Executive management
Gary N. Silverhardt
is President, CEO and owner of Equilease. He is a recognized leader in the commercial finance industry with over 25 years of experience managing and raising capital for specialty finance companies, and originating joint ventures with hedge funds and private equity funds. A frequent speaker at specialty finance and capital markets conferences on the subjects of portfolio management, portfolio acquisition and securitization, he regularly serves as a consultant to industry leaders and funds entering the marketplace. Mr. Silverhardt held senior executive positions with ICON Capital Corp. and Federated Capital Corp. Prior to purchasing Equilease, he owned and operated a consulting company specializing in portfolio management and corporate/financial planning for independent and bank-owned leasing companies. Mr. Silverhardt is a Certified Public Accountant and a former member of Coopers & Lybrand’s audit group.
Michael D. Zwick
brings over 28 years of equipment lease origination experience to Equilease. As the Company’s Executive Vice President, he is primarily responsible for portfolio origination and acquisition, both seasoned and non-performing, secured loan origination relationships and secondary lease origination programs. Since 2002, the Company has acquired more than 30 portfolios, most of them at a meaningful discount from sellers’ respective book value. Prior to joining the Company in 1997, Mr. Zwick was Vice President of Lease Acquisitions for ICON Capital Corp. where he was employed for nine years and was consistently its top producer, both in terms of origination and portfolio performance. During his tenure, Mr. Zwick originated over $500 million of equipment leases. He holds a BS from New York University.
John Guadagno,
Chief Operating Officer, has over 35 years of experience in various aspects of the commercial finance industry. Prior to joining Equilease, Mr. Guadagno was President and CEO of Phoenixcor, Inc., the commercial finance operation of Sumitomo Corporation of America; Executive Vice President and COO of MetLife Investment Management Corporation, a large fixed income money management organization; and Executive Vice President and CFO of MetLife Capital Credit Corporation. Mr. Guadagno held board positions in all the above organizations. With extensive turnaround and restructure experience, he has directed or played major roles in the merger, acquisition, sale and start-up activities in both large and small organizations. He holds a BBA from Pace University and a MBA from Sacred Heart University. Mr. Guadagno is a Certified Public Accountant.
Geoff Minsky,
is Equilease’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. Additionally, Mr. Minsky is responsible for syndication of single investor sales. Since joining Equilease in 2002, Mr. Minsky has held positions of increasing responsibility including asset management, capital market development, lease syndication, new portfolio originations, new vendor development, and senior workout operations. Prior to joining the Company, he held various positions in the areas of corporate strategy, real estate development, and corporate finance with Merrill Lynch, Pepsico, Taco Bell, Boston Market, Payless Shoesource, and Sonic Restaurants. Mr. Minsky holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Denver in both Finance and Marketing.
